Waste & Recycling

Waste collection services are provided to residential properties across the city. Services include collection of blue box recycling, green bin organics, garbage, leaf and yard waste (including Christmas trees) and pick up of large appliances and metal items.

Water & Sewers

Report problems with the city's water supply, wastewater system, or stormwater drainage, including leaks, blockages, or water quality concerns.

Winter Maintenance

This involves clearing roads and sidewalks of snow. Applying salt or other de-icing materials to prevent or remove ice. Ensuring walkways are clear for pedestrian traffic. This might include reporting plow damage, icy conditions, or illegal snow dumping.

Garbage Collection

To ensure efficient recycling and waste pick up, items must be set out properly on recycling and waste collection day. Garbage should be placed at the curb no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before collection and no later than 7 a.m. the day of collection. The time of collection could change at any time without notice.

Illegal construction

Report unauthorized building activities, construction without proper permits, or structures that don't comply with city zoning regulations.

Missed Garbage Pickup

- Garbage is collected every other week on your scheduled collection day - The garbage limit is three items every other week – including bulky items. - A paid garbage tag is required for any item exceeding the three-item limit. Tags can be purchased at UpCITY, the Joint Operations Centre and most community centres. - The UpCITY will collect a total of 13 garbage items (with 10 paid garbage tags) per location on the scheduled collection day.

Missing/damaged sign

Report concerns about missing, damaged, or unreadable street signs in Calgary, including traffic, parking, or informational signs, to ensure clear navigation and safety for drivers and pedestrians.

Noise & Nuisance

Report excessive noise disturbances, unsanitary conditions, or other public nuisances impacting quality of life in residential or commercial areas.

Noise Complaint

Report issues related to excessive or disruptive noise in your area, including loud parties, construction, or other disturbances that may affect the community’s comfort and safety.

Park Accessories

Inclusive and durable recreational structures and landscaping features designed to enhance safety, physical activity, sensory stimulation, and environmental quality in park environments, including play equipment and flowerbed restoration.

Pavement Defects

Road defects result from a combination of pavement fatigue / aging, inadequate road base and poor drainage. The City conducts road repairs throughout the year including pothole patching, asphalt grinding / replacement and crack sealing.
